Yuuki Utsugi

Yuuki Utsugi (宇津木 優季, Utsugi Yuuki) is the 75mm loader, radio operator and navigator of the Rabbit Team and one of the supporting protagonists of Girls und Panzer.

Profile

Yuuki is a first year student from Ooarai Girls Academy. She's a member of the Rabbit Team and serves as the radio operator as well as 75mm loader of the M3 Lee. Yuuki comes from Hitachinaka, Ibaraki.

Appearance

Yuuki is a rather short girl, with short black hair and dark grey eyes.

Personality

Yuuki is known for her patient personality, but occasionally is also shown to be rather dull, such as when she suggests to put a bandage on the M3's broken gun during the match against Pravda Girls High School. Further examples for this are that during OVA 2 (Survival war!), she randomly plays around with two tent herrings along with Hana, and during the Anzio OVA, when the Rabbit Team's tank is chased by two Semovente da 75/18, she oddly points out that the situation "technically is even" due to the M3 having two guns, much to Azusa's disapproval. All in all, Yuuki has a quite perky nature.

Background

Yuuki decides to join Sensha-dō along with her teammates after watching the presentation and invitation held by the Student Council. In the first episode, during lunch the day after the presentation on Sensha-dō, Yuuki excitedly talks to her classmates (and later teammates) about how her boyfriend will see her when she picks up tankery. The Rabbit Team is up to a rough start, however, and Yuuki (together with Ayumi) is the first to abandon their tank in fear during the exhibition match against St. Gloriana Girls College after getting under heavy fire. However, while not making any significant impacts during the matches against Saunders and Pravda, Yuuki and her team become more mature about Sensha-dō and eventually play a key role during the finals against Kuromorimine Girls Academy, where they manage to take out both the Jagdtiger and Elefant tank destroyers.

After the first match, unfortunately, Yuuki tells Saori Takebe that her boyfriend has dumped her, and also hopes to get relationship advice from her.

Trivia

• Her favorite flower is Lily of the Valley and her favorite tank is the U.S. M24 Chaffee.

• Like the rest of her team, Yuuki is named after players of the Japanese world cup winning soccer team of 2011. In particular, she takes her name from striker Yūki Ōgimi and defensive midfielder Rumi Utsugi.

• In MLLSD C16, Amaretto is seen flirting with her.

• In the Drama CD:"Everyone! What Are You Choosing?", she has chosen to take Kodo(Incense) first before she chose to take Senshado.
