That is what the creators said as they were in no hurry to do it as this was their major concern, how not to make it a repeat of the first season though it's difficult to say what form this new project will take though a 2nd season seems most likely.

That said I don't expect anything until late 2017 at the earliest.

    • I'm over thinking, but those two pictures with red effect are suitable for a sinking ship; Momo has some tears, although she is pretty much a sentimental person in deep, the only moments she actually cried was when the school was saved from closure, maybe she is crying now because there is no other to save the ship? The second picture reasembles a submarine. It could be the command of the school ship, but the marine and engineering school department wears white sailor suits.

      - Not necessarily in distress : the red lighting is also used at night to avoid disrupting the cycle "day/night" crew.

      - The ceiling beams appear the same on the two images, so I think it's going on the same ship ... (probably the "CIC" at Oarai school ship)

To avoid duplication, while maintaining continuity, the producers could learn from what was done in the tv series "Onegai Twins" (the sequel to "Onegai teacher") : relegate the characters from the previous series in a secondary role !

In the case of Gup, it might have been to adapt "Ribbon Warrior" or "Little Army 1 & 2" (personally, I prefer the story with Emi)

Not much of a surprise, work has already gone into designing some of those characters, would be a waste not to make use of it already.

    • Hey so! I got into this news yesterday night from a japanese blog of a guy who was in the LIVE the seiyuus of the Ooarai HS had some days ago.

They played, sang, and danced in the LIVE and in the last moment they showed the preview of the last chapter (the same you all have seen)

After the preview (may be a lie, may be not) the seiyuus explain the movie is set some like a year after, when Anzu graduates and the student council disolves and Momo is the last one to retire.

The new student council will be Saori as secretary, Yukari as vice-president and Hana as president (They say nothing about Miho)

They also explain that the Panzerfahren group slowly disolves as they choose to "follow their dreams"

Aside from that I have nothing else, all of that happened on the LIVE and the source seems to be trustful.

Oh, also, the girls in the preview are Sawa and Ayumi as second years students (the change of hairstyle from both reafirms that the movie is set a year after)

I'm skeptcial of that, especially given what we see in the trailer contradicts it. Momo isn't the last one to retire as she's in the same year as Anzu and Yuzu, which means that she'll graduate along with them and leave Oarai at the same time.

The same goes for Piotan, Sodoko and the members of Leopon who are all 3 years as well and will again graduate from Oarai at the same time as the student council.

Anime characters don't change in appereance just becasue the story takes a place a year later, the reason they are kept the same is to make them easier to recognize. The student council didn't change at all when we saw them in that picture from when they just started at Oarai 3 years ago.

I should also add that two faces of the girls do not match at all with the faces of Ayumi and Sawa, their expressions are very different.

It specifies in the blog that Momo is the last one in retire despite they graduate at the same time (I'm sorry I tend to don't detail myself enough). How do I put this... in the paragrahp where the blogger writes this, they say, Momo, Yuzu and Anzu graduate and their student council disolves once they do, yet they are still in the school for some extra curricular activities (after the blogger writes that part, is when they write that Anzu and Yuzu will leave before Momo does).

As you say the members on that other teams would be likely to graduate too, but the reason of why they still appear in the trailer doesn't mean there is no time transition, the scenes of the trailer where they still appear could be flashback scenes.

Sincerely don't want to discuss anything about Ayumi and Sawa

We have no idea, no information so far on possible new characters, new schools or new tanks (which I do expect). We don't even know what exactly this project is, be that a second season, an OVA or a movie.

    • According to the ANN article about this[[1]], although Girls und Panzer series producer Kiyoshi Sugiyama indicated during a talk show event at Tokyo Game Show on Thursday that the new project is a film, he later clarified on Twitter that his comments were in error, and asked fans to wait for the format of the project to be revealed.

Whatever format it may be, I'm really ok with it as long as it will still be good like the series and movie did. Though I will be happier if it is a 2nd season.

    • For the contributor who asked about Little Army and Ribbon Warrior. i can't say anything about Ribbon, but I pretty sure the creators would add to the main animatef series, it's so different from Sensha-Dou that it would take things too far and putt aside characters from der Film that many of us liked but didn't have much screen time and much less background story. Now, about Little Army, in a recently chapter, Emi was invited to make part in the Japan National Team of Sensha-Dou. In the very first episode of the anime, the given reason of why Ooarai is bringing back Sensha-Dou is that all schools were ordered to strheghen their team for an upcoming competition. I don't remember if it said it'd be a worldwide competition. This is the point where Little Army and animated series could merge.

    • Let us pray that this series will not be like a super long indian drama that consisted of 1000 episode. I dont like any anime that have more than 50 episode, why? Because it will be boring to watch and wait them 1-by-1. I think this will be the last season, and i think there will be 1 last movie

        Loading editor
    • ^Pretty sure that this would not be a long-running anime since as much as this franchise is successful it's a niche show and not a mainstream popular show that will get long-running series run the likes of shounen type shows. But there's the slight possibility of branching off to different stories still tied to the GuPverse after the "Final Chapter" if they want to do it.

That is entirely going to depend on what kind of medium this is, if it's an OVA then don't count on it, even with a movie there's only a small chance. Ooarai and Miho will always be the main focal point.

Because it would be too much of the same, which is one of the reasons why the animated series has a sort of expiration date, girls riding and fighting with tanks, the creators can easily overdo the concept and destroy the franchise by being too monotonous and about the matches you mentioned, we already know their fighting styles, so we know how it would turn out on the debriefing.

They are screening in parts, based on other series, how long does it take to release one part to the next? And imagine the loads of money they will make with this, they have 6 episodes of 40, it's equal to 12 episodes of 20, they are releasing in the movies instead of anime season, they are going to break box office records.

    • This is one of the things I hate about Japanese Anime, they don't finish the story and if they do, they seldom do a good job of it.

I would have thought that the next set would have been how to save the school for more than a year, it needs to have the proper structure to survive after the 3rd years are gone and them when Miho and her friends leave. They don't have the structure, they don't have the tanks, they don't have the members and they don't have new faces lining up to join. At present the entire team and school will collapse, it is only a matter of time.

Perhaps this new amine is about the collapse of everything. It is only a matter of time.

    • The participation of Hayao Miyazaki (if it is not a homonym or a translation error) reminds me that, although man is a convinced pacifist, some of his works have something in common with Girls und Panzer :

      • The film "Nausicäa of the valley of the wind", where an imaginary tank appears, inspired by a famous TD (see 0.58

Various mangas for the magazine "Model Grafix", translated into French (sorry for anglophones) on the site Buta

      Those with tanks:

      • "Buta to Tora": the misadventures of Hans, a German mechanic, aboard a Tiger (P) (not available on Buta)

You mean existing teams or new teams? Personally I wouldn't mind seeing more of Keisoku though Maginot making an appereance wouldn't be so bad either, there are really a lot of teams I'd love to see. Given that these are going to be 6 OVA episodes of 40min each there's a lot they can do and expect plenty of new characters, teams and tanks to appear.

    • The staff of the Girls und Panzer' das Finale anime project announced the opening theme song artists for the anime project during the "Girls und Panzer der Film Cinematic Concerts" concert on Sunday. Sayaka Sasaki will perform the opening theme song "Grand symphony" for the first three episodes. Sasaki previously performed the "Anglerfish Dance" song that is part of the original television anime's story. Choucho, who performed the opening theme song for the television anime and the 2015 film, will return as the opening theme song artist for the project's last three episodes.

Sasaki appeared during Sunday's concert as a "secret guest" and performed an orchestral rendition of "Grand symphony."

Bandai Visual will also release a Blu-ray Disc of a live recording of Sunday's concert at the Pacifico Yokohama National Convention Hall. The Blu-ray Disc is slated for December 22. The release will also include performances of ChouCho and Sasaki's songs for the anime project. The Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra performed the music, under the baton of conductor Hirofumi Kurita, as it did for the earlier "Girls und Panzer Orchestra Concert ~Herbst Musikfest 2015~."

Sunday's concert featured footage from the 2015 film accompanied by the orchestra performing pieces from the film's soundtrack (which also includes traditional real-life military marches). The Blu-ray Disc release on December 22 will also include footage from the real-life Ōarai town's Anglerfish Festival from last November, the Spring Festival Kairaku event from March, and a "D1 GRAND PRIX SERIES Rd.3 TSUKUBA DRIFT" support tour. The release will also contain another installment of the "Akiyama Yukari no Sensha Kōza" (Yukari Akiyama's Tank Lecture) short series, whose previous installments appeared in the television anime and film's home video releases.

The first of the upcoming finale anime's six episodes will openin 59 Japanese theaters on December 9.

The project will also have immersive 4DX and MX4D screenings, after the second episode in the Finale anime project ends its initial run of regular screenings. Each of the immersive screenings will combine two episodes; the first ones will combine the first and second episodes. The next set of immersive screenings will combine the third and fourth episodes, and the last set will combine the fifth and sixth episodes.

Playing Devil's advocate here, but the MAUS was never actually a finished product, there was never a working prototype, and the only thing finished about it was the hull before it got trashed. Now for The Ratte, if I recall correctly, the gun was finished, the only thing needed was the hull, objectively the most important part, but it was still partially constructed.

I would love to see it in the new OVAs since it is a dumb and stupid concept, but hilarious at the same time, I mean, wanting to fit a MAUS in the back and have the whole thing air tight so that it could cross the English Channel by driving underwater. I love how it was accepted by the engineers to try to make it.

I really keep wondering how it is possible for people to not even bother with a 5min search on google before making a post, honestly it would do a lot to prevent nonsense from being posted. Maus WAS completed, 2 prototypes of it in 43 and 44. Both of them were extensively tested at Kummersdorf until 1945 when both vehicles where destroyed by their own crews using demolition charges.

When the Russians came across the wrecks the combiend the hull of the 1st prototype withthe turret of the 2nd prototype and shipped it off to Kubinka. Maus in Kubinka

Nothing was ever build for the Ratte, the design never went beyond anything but a couple of vague sketches for the entire duration of the project, which was not more than 2 to 3 months. And you're really grasping at straws if you want to pretend that having a gunbarrel made equals partially build, it does in no way even come remotely close.

Maus could not cross the Channel, it could to rivers which was what it was designed for.

Hmm, I must have mixed things up then, I could have sworn to have read somewhere that at the very least the gun and turret were made. I must have remembered wrong. And when I said "able to cross the english channel" I was meaning the Ratte, it was in the plans to make it able to drive on the bottom of the channel and come up on the shore of England.

There were no plans for the Ratte to cross the channel, nor was there any means to transport the damn thing even close to the shoreline or any provisions for enabling it to crawl across the seabed. For the armerment the plan was to use the 28cm gun along with the turret from battlecruisers such as the Gneisenau, modified to have only 2 guns instead of the usual 3, to be mounted. It was an impractical fantasy fueled by Hitler's meglomania.

I had confirmation of the composition of the future student council. MLLSD C49 shows the transfer of power between Anzu, Momo & Yuzu to Hana, Saori & Yukari. As I can't read japanese it's more obvious for Saori, as Momo gives her a an eyeglass and a neck band as hers (like if you want to do public relation in Ooarai you must have a single eyeglass) and Yuzu introduces Yukari to paperwork.

      Thanks Hauptman,

And apparently GuP will have it's own game on PS4. But the possibility that it sold out Japan is very thin, more over to be port on PC (I'm Dreaming)

But BC Freedom uniforms are very different from their appearance in Ribbon Warrior.

Maybe BC Freedom have gone through another political leadership change, who have altered the uniforms according to their preference?

Of course, new anime installations have the potential to challenge the canonicity of the derivative works (especially Ribbon Warrior, which in my opinion is one of the stranger spin-offs).

Yeah, maybe there was a change of leadership, maybe their Senshado club is independant from their Tankathlon club or maybe it the new anime will crush it's canonicity. We'll see that in time.

Oh yeah ???? Where did you see that ?

Because for now RW didn't contradict anything in the canon (maybe it won't last when the Finale will be aired) it integrates things from the anime, the film (the fight between Erika & BC Freedom takes place after the film and some characters of the University), Little Army 2 (West Kureoji Grona takes part in the tankathlon tournament) and even the light novel (where it is stated that Erika was part of the Pz.III crew that Miho saved during the 62nd tournament).

        Loading editor
    • It was mentioned in a monthly magazine by the creator of RW, I'll see if I can dig it up.

Actually it does make a big contradiction to the original canon series, canon characters in it behave ooc. It also paints the picture that tankathon is suddenly the popular sport while tankery isn't it to the point that it portrays Darjeeling as willing to risk her own chance of attending university by continueing to mess with tankathon.

        Loading editor
    • Thank you very much Hauptman for this link. As for the consistency or not of RW with GUP (anime), I would rather be Hauptman's opinion, because some of the daughters of the animes become too brutal and wicked in RW (ex: the team duck, Erika, ...) ... or have sinister face expressions (Darjeeling, ...)

        Loading editor
    • Thanks for the link Zenja.

Personally I wouldn't use the FT-17 as a flag tank, it's pretty slow, paper thin armor and a gun that lacks of penetrative power.

    • Good catch man, alright that seems to be 3 new characters and at least 2 tanks. Somehow with tehse characters I'm getting a 'Rose of Versailles' vibe whenever I look at them.

        Loading editor
    • Maybe the strategy behind the FT-17 is to park it behind a bush far away from the fighting to minimise the chance of it coming under fire, and giving a smaller, weaker tank that job results in the smallest impact on the combat potential of the main force.

Do you recognise the origins of the uniform shown? And are they consistent with their appearances in Ribbon Warrior?

For the FT-17 you maybe right.

Honestly I don't recognize the inspiration of their uniform (I think there some inspiration with the French Navy one but I'm not sure) and no they are not consistent with the Ribbon Warrior ones.

After for this I have two hypothesis:

-Der Finale Chapter will ignore Ribbon Warrior.

-Or maybe after Asparagus's resign of overall commander post they manage to revive of their Senshado club, a new management instal and change the uniforms. It's not very plausible but I like this hypothesis.

I would ask that you support this claim with evidence, as all my research proves otherwise. In fact, in the latest translated chapter of Ribbon Warrior (Ch. 31), Asparagus declares that she will put an end to the internal rivally at BC, specifically introducing a new uniform for the entire school/team. The new uniform as shown in RW matches the BC uniform shown in the promotional images for GuP das Finale. See attached image. I would extrapolate from this, that the events of das Finale take place after the events of the "Cauldron" arc of RW.

    • First post here and already you issue a demand? How amusing.

It was said by the author himself in a Japanese magazine a few years back, the new uniform shown appears to be a hasty move on the part of the manga's creator. This anime uniform design is something that has likely been made already for a long time and given the time it takes to make an anime, likely a year or so.

From some of the scenes seen in the trailer it hints that BC is already wearing this uniform or, during the nationals when two if its more prominent characters seem to be in an heated argument, they are standing in front of a board that bears a resemble to the tournament roster, giving that Darjeeling can also be heard speaking in the trailer we are likely going to learn a bit more on how BC did during the tournament when they were defeated by St. Gloriana, possibly even flashbacks which will contain this anime uniform, and if that is the case then RW having any canonically link to das finale falls flat on its face.

Not one of the BC characters shown in the das finale trailer bears any semblance to any of the RW characters, nor do their names appears, the team captain seems to be somebody entirely else, their tank fleet has changed.

At the moment we don't, it just started being shown in Japanese cinemas today and will run for 5 weeks. Our earliest oppertunity to watch it outside is when it'll be released on Bluray and people can upload it.

Also nice find Zenjamibu though I must say that I am surprised to see that they've gone with the post war production configuration of the ARL-44, that certainly makes it a far more dangerous opponent though I would love to hear what the explanation is for the tank given that it is now illegal under the rules as we know them.

</span>So now that the new OVA has been out a few hours,i have more info plot wise..It seem that the girls are taking part in a winter league??(Not national championship??) so the stake are less this time..But they want to win regard less as Miho has stepped aside as the overall commander,And Momo is now in command..But this is for Momos benefit as she had weak grades in exams and her chances or getting into university were slim..So if she were to be the head gang and they won in the winter league she could get to uni on a sport scholarship or something along those lines..The new team is from the Boat/Ship club, and Momo seems to have been their leader at some-point..More spy fun from Yukari..The heads of some of the other team are mentioned in passing, and they have gone on trips abroad to the countries that their schools are based on..Erika is now in charge of Black-forest while Maho is in Germany

The 42-minute film was released in select 59 theaters across Japan on December 9 and earned an impressive 145,981,740 yen from the 118,798 ticket sales in its first Saturday and Sunday, which was 113.6% of the first weekend gross (128,438,980 yen from 77 theaters) of the franchise's mega hit film in 2015, Girls und Panzer der Film. It ranked a very good 4th in the overall weekend box office, surpassing last weekend's top-grossing film Fullemetal Alchemist in 5th.

Despite of its cheaper ticket price of 1,200 yen (a regular adult ticket price for a film in Japan is 1,800 yen), its per-screen average was also an amazing 2,474,266 yen. Thanks to the very good opening result, 28 more theaters are scheduled to be added from January 20, 2018.

December 9 (Sat): 99,146,480 yen on 80,078 admissions

December 10 (Sun): 46,835,260 yen on 38,720 admissions

It seems that the ARL 44 is going to give some problems to Ooarai. At least a good French tank on GuP (the B1 was ok).

But for Ooarai I don't see the usefulness of the Mark IV.

        Loading editor
    • They certainly are, with 5 exampels of the ARL BC certainly packs a serious punch though I am interested to see to what degree the many drawbacks of the tank are going to be shown as when it comes to reliability this tank was one of the worst.

The Mk IV is a head scratcher alright, have to give style points for it but I question its usefullness. Then again this is GuP so I am expecting something wicked to be doen by it and one of its crews is voiced by Ayane Sakura, I love her voice.

        Loading editor
    • For the Mark IV if we go that way we also looked down the Type 89 and it was more badass than we though. Maybe Leopon Team will boost up the engine a little.

    • That, and the fact that the mk IV will be crewed by a bunch of delinquents.

If they have a Jolly Roger it would be instead be a BeutePanzer Mk.IV (as I see some WWI BeutePanzers have white skull and two bones below on their hull) besides their logo ooze piracy.

Thanks for the answer. Flint looks cute IMO.

How about their role? I'm pretty sure Silver is a commander.

Since Mk. IV has two guns. So 2 of them must be a gunner.

Yes we could create a category but I don't think WWI tanks will be legion. Except if they make WWI based teams (although I think they will be short lived) like the Entente Team (Mk.IV tanks, St-Chamond, Schneider CA1 and FT tanks) or the Kaiserliche Team (K-Wagen, A7V and Beutepanzers).

The Somua could be a good tank effective against early-war tank but not against heaviest ones, the ARL 44 is a good threat for Ooarai as it can pierce any of their tanks but the FT-17 it's slow, has a paper-thin armor and it's gun can harm only the Type 89.

I don't think it would do any good, it was pretty slow, far too bulky (almost like the Maus but less armored) a real sitting duck and its gun lacks of velocity and modern armor-piercing ammunition. It was mostly use as a propaganda tank.

If it was used it would be most likely Maginot but as they lacks of members, they would not use it.

Someone said that the ARL-44 portrayed in a picture is the post-war version so is it legal now? or will it just be a one time rule because if that's so is the JSF allowing Post-World War II / Early Cold War tanks?

Hi if I had to choose a country that is not present it would be Hungary, because they have a bunch of unique tanks (Toldi light tanks, Turan and TAS medium tanks and Zrinyi TD).

I don't think they'll make use post WWII tank, my guess is that they take the first image of a ARL-44 they found, with the 1946 confirguration (technically the turret and the gun were ready before the end of the war) and they will make the JSF making an exception for it. They should have made it like this.

That is certainly possible, we'll find out in a few months, but you should keep in mind that this is the tank they found deep within the ship, the one that Momo had been looking for using all those Goliaths.

According the interview of the GuP military advisor Takaaki Suzuki there is several reasons:

      • The Director Tsutomu Mizushima wanted to put a tank worse that the Type 89.
      • They wanted to put a tank no one expected.
      • As the girls are from maritimes class, they wanted to give them this tank that were called "landships" at the beginning and were build and paid for by the Royal Navy.

Might even be before the end of March, it all really depends how quickly they can get their hands on a copy, I know that with der film they had the raw up in a week and a subbed one in less than 2 weeks. Of course, neither is a garantuee that it will go that fast this time. Likely best to set your hope for mid april to avoid any dissapointment.

      http://www.maquetland.com/v2/images_articles/bearn1683.jpg

I don't really know how to modificate the wiki and I don't want to to mistakes, so I let it to you guys.

Yep, but we'll make those changes once we have some images of the schoolship, and once we can decide on how we are going to redo the BC Freedom page as it will now need to be split into 2 parts, the parts that is relevant to the main series and a part that is relevant only to ribbon warrior. That, and getting our hands on a translated example of the 'new' gekkan shenshado article on BC Freedom

The episode itself is good, I really like Shark Team (except Rum I don't really like her), now I understand Maho's change of uniform in the opening as she enroled into a German school, the test in the bar was kinda cool (espacially Murakami's) and the battle beggining was also cool, I'm eager to see the rest. But I don't like the "Enter Mission" remix. I also loved Sodoko's Spider Morals Committee sense and Yukari's video logo paroding Lucasfilm logo. Then during the Tournament selection after Momo draw the numbers we can see Blue Division schoolgirls in front of Ankou Team, but I don't manage to recognise others schoolgirls, I first thought that behind (Your beloved) Saori was Saunders but the color of ties and skirts don't match.

Now lets come to my biggest black point, I don't like at all the new despiction of BC Freedom. First changing the WWII era themed France to Napeleonic/Revolution era was out of subject, except in term of tactics or formation maybe this era has nothing to do with tanks. Plus it renders the Cross of Lorraine out of subject in their own emblem

Then changing the military/political struggle between Vichy and Free France to a class/social struggle between the Nobility and lower social class was also out of subject. The idea of fracture seems to be still here, although I think the fracture only exist as spies deception as they seems to have a more than ok coordination.

For their tank roster, it looks like a Maginot copycat as they took nearly all tanks that Maginot had from the Gekkan Senshado Magazine (Okay the ARL-44 had nothing to do with a Pre-war France and the FCM F1 with a Free France) but the former BC Freedom (I'm not talking about RW) had a mixture of French, American, British and German tanks which was pretty logic as Free France used many tanks of its Allies and captured German ones.

And for the BC song even if it works with them now I would have prefered a more emblematic song like the Marseillaise, one cliché more of less :) it seems they regroup many Paris monuments in just one place (July Column from Place de la Bastille, Notre-Dame de Paris, Eiffel Towel, Louvre Pyramid, Arc de Triomphe... I think there are others but I don't recognize them).

Before you say it, I'm not talking as a RW fanboy, I just found their version more realistic.

    • In this case, I will wait some time before creating the page. However, a spoiler tag will have to suffice from then on in.

I really like it! I think the animation and camera angles are very nice.

It's hilarious that our dear Momo-chan was so panicky under pressure. More so because now she's in a position where it's not advisable to be hysteric. And Anzu just kicks back and enjoys the sight of her going through a ... learning experience.

Perhaps the only thing that annoyed me was Mika playing her Kantele in a sauna - As a violin player myself, I can testify that instruments, especially tension-based string instruments, go out of tune very quickly in such conditions, and if she isn't careful she could damage the frame when she exits the sauna. But on the other hand, this is a world where high school girls operate tanks, planes and city-sized aircraft carriers, so I don't really mind.

I was most intrigued by the shot of Alice Shimada in the OP. It reminded me that she has transferred into one of the sensha-do-practicing high schools, so I wonder if there will be some dark horse that comes out of nowhere thanks to her involvement. Another scene in the OP that appears to show tanks from the UST alongside Kuromorimine is also fuel for speculation.

    • Fox357magnum:

*spoiler* I have to agree with one thing. The tactics BC came with...it's really Maginot battle rip-off. And the rest.... well, we can't be 100% sure as the whole conflict in BC academy was a grand-charade for Yukarin.

It was expected that GuP das Finale's 6-part run will be the length of an 1-cour anime. Though it might get longer as the next parts come out since Part 1 was originally stated would run roughly 40 minutes but it ended up to 47 minutes(including the OP and ED). Though the wait for the next one might get longer as well if they want to keep its high quality.

I was only speculating for the fracture, they seems to be really eager to fight in Yukari's video and when they arrived in the match, but they have such cooperation in the match that it's hard to tell there is so much hatred between them and from what they say it is the caused of all their priors defeats. Then "to me" changing the theme period from WW2 to Napoleonic times and switching the military/politic fracture to a social/classes one ruins everything, it doesn't have any links anymore with WW2 except the tanks.

      Kinedyme

You're annoyed of Mika playing kantele in the sauna because you're jealous of Mika-chan skills :p, beside even if she deteriorate it she only have to stole another one.

Since the time I follow this anime I accept "a lot" of weird things but there was one thing that I can't accept at all: in Phase Erika a T-28 Heavy-Tank that did a wheelie, it ruins the match which is pretty nice). Check here if you haven't see it (I don't know since when you follow Phase Erika, but this is in the last chapter in date check here if you miss some). If you can pass on this you can pass everything. For the opening, Alice's presence is indeed intriguing. I hope we'll see her again. I also love Maus-san cameo (I heard we can play with it in the PS4 game. I'll receive the game tommorow i'm eager to try).

    • I fully expect Alice to appear in one or several of the remaining episodes. And yes, she will likely be part of a new school, she might even be the final boss for Miho in this tournament.

        Loading editor
    • It would be terrifying to see Alice in a flag tank battle. If she and her crew perform half as well as they did in Der Film, in a tank half as good, then if they're in the flag tank it basically doesn't need escorts.

In Ooarai's favour though, I doubt that she owned that Centurion, let alone brought it with her. And I also don't feel that drivers, gunners and loaders of such high calibre are common in the high school leagues.

And who knows, maybe she'll even take an elective other than Sensha-do - She seemed to want to do that in the OVA.

I don't think it will be a year, but we have to wait that the episode is aired in Japan and after a few months (generally 3 or 4) that the Bluray is released so that the scanlation group take care of the subs. The 1st episode was aired on December 9th 2017, the bluray was released on March 23rd 2018 in Japan and the episode was subbed and released on March 25th 2018.

So I think (that's pure theory) I think we'll get the next episode circa August.

I would agree, good spotting! we saw in the last trailer that Viking have a Neubaufahrzeug aswell, hopefully, we get some good battles from the other schools as I think it will be the first time in the anime that the main schools haven't fought against Ooarai (except in der film.) each other but we might get a Saunders Vs Anzio in the first round for example (but hopefully that will be in later episodes.)

My thought as well, I like that we now have evidence for at least one school reinforcing its team following Ooarai's victory in the tournament.

As for the Panzer III, given that they are likely using the already existing ausf. J model that they still have from the TV series. Kinda a shame as later models such as the ausf. L or N are more appropiate.

Yeah too bad for the Panzer III, I think the laziness will find an excuse in "they upgrade their tanks", because in term of penetration I think the 50mm L/60 is far better than the 75mm L/24.

        Loading editor
    • I think it is more because of the limitations they have to work under, if you already have a working 3D model and one that the majority of your fanbase couldn't tell the difference about, one would be foolish not to take advantage of it and save tiem that can be spend on other parts.

With regards to penetration, the 2 guns are relative close to each other which is also one of the reason that more tanks were converted to carry the 7.5cm gun as its penetration was roughly equal to that of the longer 5cm gun while also having a better HE capacity.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah I see your point, but in the end the Ausf.J and N turrets are nearly (if not) the same, the chassis seems to be the same (except with the extra armor of the N) and they already have the 75mm L/24 modelled from the Panzer IV. So that's why I found it too bad, I'm no computer designer but I don't think replacing one gun should be too hard.
