Shizuko Hosomi (細見 静子, Hosomi Shizuko) is one of the supporting characters in Girls und Panzer der Film. She is Vice Commander and one of tank commanders from Chi-Ha-Tan Sensha-do team.
Profile[]
Hosomi is one of the Chi-Ha-Tan Academy students seen in the movie. On top of being the commander of a Type 97 Chi-Ha, she seems to share the general Vice Commander role with Tamaki Tamada.
Appearance[]
Hosomi is an average-sized girl with black hair and a pair of bright green eyes, always seen wearing the Chi-Ha-Tan Sensha-do uniform.
Her hairstyle with two spirals at the top of her head and part of hair that sticks out is very unique; when her hair is down (typically after a shower), she is unrecognizable even by her very teammates.
Personality[]
As her teammates, Hosomi is quite passionate and even impulsive in fights, and follows blindly the Sensha-dō way of her school, consisting in attacking the opponents with suicidal cavalry-like charges, which most of the time result in the destruction of her tank while obtaining very little to nothing in return. At the same time, she also can be surprisingly calm in different contexts.
She also seems to be quite a prankster, with Haru Fukuda being her preferred target.
Etymology[]
- The name Shizuko means "quiet" (静) (shizu) and "child" (子) (ko).
- Shizuko's surname Hosomi means "fine" (細) (hoso) and "see, hopes, chances, idea, opinion, look at, visible" (見) (mi), which literally means "close inspection" altogether.
Trivia[]
- Her favourite period of history seems to be the Showa era, including World War 2 and the Second Sino-Japanese War.
- In Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu, Hosomi is shown to be someone who loves to cheer people up and is quite friendly and extroverted.
- Shizuko´s birthday, the 1st of August, is the same date as the beginning of the First Sino-Japanese War in 1894.
