The battle between Pravda High School (bracket number 11) and Viking Fisheries High School (bracket number 12) was the sixth match of the first round of 41st Winter Continuous Track Cup. The match grounds consisted of a snowy area. The match resulted in a victory of Pravda, allowing the school to move on to the quarter-finals.

Battle[]

Premise[]

Pravda and Viking had already faced each other in the 63rd National High School Senshado Tournament, in an urban area surrounded by muddy terrain, where the difference was that Viking fielded the SOMUA S35, the H35 and a Panzer I Ausf.B. Although Viking's tactic worked against Koala Forest, it did not work against Pravda, where all of their tanks were mercilessly destroyed by Katyusha.

Final battle[]

Viking launched a group of four tanks, consisting of two pairs of Chaffees and Panzer III, aiming to attack Pravda's flag tank and leaving two Chaffees to protect the Neubaufahrzeug. Katyusha makes a gesture with her hands that Nonna and Klara understand and they soon move forward too. The Viking attack tanks were all destroyed without scoring any hits by Katyusha, Nonna and Klara. The red trio attacked the Viking flag tank position, one Chaffee was destroyed by Klara while another tried in vain to block the IS-2, but this did not stop Katyusha from delivering the final blow to the Neubaufahrzeug.

Aftermath[]

Pravda demonstrated its overwhelming strength against Viking for the second time. Viking's strategy on mechanical sides, probably put into practice, was certainly one of the causes of the defeat, in addition to using an obsolete and extremely slow tank as the flag tank. Pravda will fight Kuromorimine Girls' Academy in the quarterfinals.

Trivia[]

  • Out of all the canon matches, this is the second time that Pravda and Viking have competed against each other in a tournament. The first time was the 63rd Senshado National High School Tournament. However, unlike the Winter Tournament, the 63rd Tournament took place in an urban area near muddy terrain.
  • According to Gekkan Senshado Magazine, Viking hoped to purchase M24 Chaffees in the near future. This match was proof that the purchase was successful.
    • Interestingly, Norway, the country Viking took inspiration from, also obtained M24 Chaffees. They entered service in the 1950s and the last remaining ones were taken out of service in 1993.
  • The Neubaufahrzeug's fight against Pravda's Russian tanks may be a reference to the fact that, according to German sources, the Neubaufahrzeug was taken to fight in Operation Barbarossa, where it was destroyed by BT-7s in 1941.
  • Unlike the 63rd Sensha-do Tournament match, the Hotchkiss H35, SOMUA S35, and Panzer I are not seen in the Winter Tournament match, being replaced by the M24 Chaffees.
