Noriyo Hamada (浜田 紀代, Hamada Noriyo) is one of the supporting characters in Girls und Panzer der Film and Girls und Panzer das Finale.
Profile[]
Hamada is a student from Chi-Ha-Tan Academy. She operates a Type 97 Chi-Ha Shinhoto.
Appearance[]
Hamada is a girl with Black hair tied in a low bun and blue-gray eyes. She appears to be about average or above average height. She is mostly seen wearing Chi-Ha-Tan Academy Sensha-do with a tank helmet or schoolgirl uniform.
Personality[]
Nothing is revealed about Hamada's personality in the movie, except that she is hot-blooded like her teammates and willing to charge, however her facial expression might indicate a soft and gentle personality.
According to Official material she is very graceful, but she is also surprising pessimistic and commonly makes sarcastic remarks.
She is also preoccupied with her hairs, frustated of the helmet messing with her hairstyle and jealous of Hosomi's hairs being perfect.
Background[]
Hamada participated at the Compound match alongside Ooarai against St.Gloriana and Pravda, commanding her Shinhoto. She was part of the main group "commanded" by Kinuyo Nishi and she was possibly responsible for destroying a Matilda. She ended by charging St. Gloriana's entrench tanks exalted thinking they managed to destroy a Matilda and was destroyed by the Churchill.
During the Winter Continuous Track Cup quarter-finals match against Ooarai Girls Academy, she once again commanded her Shinhoto part of Tamaki Tamada's Platoon. During the first phase of the match she harassed Ooarai's tanks alongside the others and might have participated to the Mark IV's destruction, during the nightfall she was seen enjoying the "Chi-Ha-Tan Ballad". She then took part on Ooarai's bombardement and the faint that allow Tamada to destroy the Tiger (P) by Tamada and was destroyed trying to fall back by the Panzer IV.
Etymology[]
- The name Noriyo means "chronicle" (紀) (nori) and "generation" (代) (yo).
- Noriyo's surname Hamada means "beach, seashore" (浜) (hama) and "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta/da).
Trivia[]
- Hamada and Setsuko Nagura are often mistaken for each other, even in official works.
- Hamada is the only one alongside Haru Fukuda to be seen wearing a helmet in Chi-Ha-Tan
- According to the official site, Hamada is a student of the Urasenke School of Tea Ceremony.
- Hamada's favorite Writer is Edogawa Ranpo.
- If Hamada was the one who took out the second Matilda, this makes her the first to take out a St. Gloriana's medium tank and one of only three (confirmed) Chi-Ha-Tan commanders to knock out an enemy tank (the others are Fukuda and Tamaki Tamada).
- Unlike Tamada (who pulls back as quickly as possible after taking out the Porsche Tiger) and Nagura (who pulls back while avoiding the enemy and without firing), Hamada instead has her tank drive closer to Ooarai's group and attempt to take a shot at the M3 Lee or Type 89B, and is herself taken out as a result. This makes Hamada's loss, Chi-Ha-Tan's only loss of the ambush, primarily a result of a tactical error on her own part.
- She have same Japanese Seyuu as Saemonza.
