Girls und Panzer: Fierce Fight! It's the Maginot Battle! (ガールズ&パンツァー 激闘! マジノ戦ですっ!) is a spin-off manga from the original Girls und Panzer story, taking place somewhere early during the main series. The story revolves around Ooarai and a training match against the French themed school Maginot Girls' College.
Background[]
The story follows the Sensha-dō team of Maginot Girls College as it undergoes major reformation under a new commander. The school has long specialised in defensive tactics, which has seen them suffer a long string of defeats with no end in sight. Éclair, a second year student who is fed up with the state of the club, vows to revolutionize their strategy with the introduction of cavalry tactics.
Éclair's path is not an easy one: The tradition-bound team will struggle to accept a new commander as well as a new combat doctrine, and everything from the training to the tanks of the club is at odds with the change. The 63rd National High School Sensha-Dō Tournament approaches. In order to test her new tactics on the field, Éclair organises a match against another school that is desperate for combat experience; Ooarai Girls Academy.

Trivia[]
- Éclair's intention towards cavalry tactics is in reference to the style of cavalry used during the Napoleonic Wars. The traditional school approach of a static defensive setup is inspired by the Maginot Line, and France's defensive approach towards WWII.
