Flying Tankers are a Tankathlon group from the spin-off manga Girls Und Panzer: Ribbon Warrior.
Background[]
The Flying Tankers is a Tankathlon Volunteer Group formed and led by Alisa following the challenge launched by Shizuka Tsuruki. It is not officially affiliated to Saunders due to the non-official status of Tankathlon matches. Aside from Alisa, the only other member of note is Helmet-Chan.
In order to meet Tankathalon's tank requirements, Alisa ordered the return of three M22 Locusts which had been previously lend-leased to BC Freedom High School. Two Locusts were lost in combat before Centipede Team's Type 97 was judged to be in no condition to fight due to a sprocket wheel being ejected due to a collision. Kay, who had watched the match in the audience, expressed that it was a deserved win, even if Alisa did not believe so herself.
During the first round of the Tankathlon Cauldron Tournament, the Flying Tankers would once again fight the Centipede Team. This time, Alisa would command only a single T7 Combat Car, with Naomi being selected as outside support, as per the Yojimbo rule of Tankathalon. The standoff becomes more chaotic when Shizuka reveals that her selected bodyguard is Kay, who in turn threatens to upset the balance of the match. At Alisa's request both Naomi and Kay withdraw from the match in their T7 combat cars, returning the battle to a one-on-one. Though both flag tanks are knocked out of commission, the judges ultimately rule that Shizuka shot first, granting her the victory. The Flying Tankers and its members are then integrated into Centipede Team to participate in later rounds of the Cauldron.
