Asparagus is a tank commander featured in Girls und Panzer: Ribbon Warrior.
Profile[]
Asparagus attends the Free French-themed BC Freedom Academy. Until the fateful match in alliance with the Centipede Team against Kuromorimine Girls Academy, she was the overall tank commander of BC Freedom Academy. Since her resignation she decided to work behind the scenes and joined the Tankathlon organizing staff, but she promised to never leave Sensha-do completely. It is hinted she also enforced the unity of both warring factions of the academy after witnessing the humiliating defeat against Polite girls led by Katyusha during the Cauldron event in Tankathlon.
Appearance[]
Asparagus seems to be a relatively tall girl, with short blonde hair and blue eyes. Early on in Ribbon Warrior, she is typically seen in the former Freedom faction's uniform, consisting of a brown uniform similar to WWII French officer's and an ornated kepi.
Personality[]
Asparagus, whom many believe to be modeled after Charles de Gaulle, appears to have a very strict and serious personality, and appears to be dedicated to both Sensha-do and her school. She is seen scolding girls from the former BC side of the school for drinking with Anzio and the Centipede team following a match. Early on, she seemed to look down upon Tankathlon, stating that it was "a comfortable hunting ground" and "truly a nice solution to stress" when asked what it meant to her. She also seemed to initially distrust the former BC side, actively avoiding bringing them into a match where it was clear they could be of help. Despite this, she does make a conscious effort to better her schools team later on, attempting to put aside the differences between the BC and Freedom factions of the school in order to unite them, after the seeing the chaos that caused their defeat against the Centipede team. She is also seen to be incredibly focused and dedicated outside of Sensha-do, working nonstop to manage the Cauldron tournament.

- The name Asparagus might be based on the nickname given to Free French leader, Charles De Gaulle, la Grande Asperge or "the Great Asparagus".
- Fun fact: de Gaulle has a history of nicknames related to his extreme height (196 cm or 6'5). Among the nicknames are: "le grand Charles"
- "Asparagus" is a kind of green vegetable.
- Asparagus's distinctive uniform is based on the uniform of the Maréchal de France (Marshal of France) at least for the cap (which is that of a Brigadier-General) and the Marshal's baton. This is why it's hinted that she is the head of the school because of this high military distinction.
- Her catchphrase is "zamasu".
- It is noted in Ribbon Warrior that she designed BC Freedom's signature blue-and-white uniforms in order to create a sense of unity, rather than have different uniforms for the BC and Freedom sides.
