The battle between Anzio High School (bracket number 15) and Bonple High School (bracket number 16) was the eighth and the last match of the first round of 41st Winter Continuous Track Cup. The match grounds consisted of an abandoned and destroyed city. The match resulted in a victory of Anzio, allowing the school to move on to the quarter-finals.
Battle[]
At the end of the match, the FT-17, used as a flag tank, began to be completely surrounded on all sides by CV.33s, leaving Maiko both amazed and confused.
Meanwhile, after the destruction of the TK Tankette, the 7TPs began an exchange of fire with the Semoventes, in which two of them were destroyed, but not the one used as a flag tank. During the siege of the FT-17, it shoots one of the CV.33s in the front, giving Anchovy the opportunity to take a clear shot at the FT-17, destroying it and at the same time causing a CV.33s splash around it.
Aftermath[]
Anzio's victory balanced the great rivalry between Anzio and Bonple shown mainly in Ribbon Warrior, in which Bonple always stood out over Anzio. Bonple perhaps could have won if it was a Tankathlon match, where they are stronger and more feared. Anzio will fight St. Gloriana Girls' College in quarter-finals.
Trivia[]
- The fact that the Italian and Polish-themed schools fight each other is perhaps a reference to how the two countries mention each other in their national anthems. In the Italian national anthem, there is a verse that says "il sang Polacco (The blood of Poland)", and in the Polish national anthem, one of the chorus lines is "Z ziemi włoskiej do Polski (From Italy to Poland).
- Even though Anzio and Bonple are rivals, more due to Jajka's actions in the matches, she is not seen in Das Finale 2. It is almost true that she was graduated after the events of Ribbon Warrior, as OVA 11 proved that Maiko was the overall commander. The same perhaps happened with Asparagus from BC Freedom, as with Marie's rise as commander, both the team and the factions were drastically changed.
- Anzio pinning down Bonple's flag tank by dog-piling CV-33s on top of it (Operation "French Curve") could have been inspired by how Duck Team blocked the Maus's turret in Episode 12.
- Something interesting to note is that the TK Tankette destroyed had the white flag shown much higher compared to the other tanks.
