Anna Masukura is a tank driver featured in Girls und Panzer: The Fir Tree and the Iron-Winged Witch.
Profile[]
Anna is a second year student of Count High School. She drives Noemi Kohiyama's T.3 (Panzer III Ausf.N).
Appearance[]
Anna is a medium-sized girl with shoulder-length brown hair and blue eyes. She is seen wearing Count's Sensha-dō uniform during matches and wears the ordinary school uniform outside of matches.
Personality[]
Anna is shown to be an enthusiastic girl and a capable driver, keeping her calm under pressure even without commands from her commander. She is also supportive, especially towards her friend Noemi, both expressing her happiness for her friend becoming a tank commander (and embarrassing her in the process) and calming her down at the beginning of the match when Noemi was nervous about her first match as a tank commander. She is usually seen smiling but can also get "scary" when she gets angry, something that Witch Senpai herself noticed when talking to her.
Her skill as a driver is also demonstrated in that she drove industrial machines on her parents' farm.
Anna is quite strong for a girl of her age: she effortlessly picks up tank tracks that the rest of her friends really struggle to carry. She is also a bit of a tomboy, and she criticizes the twins' frailty. Her tomboyish and somewhat brutish personality appears when Noemi starts crying despite Anna's attempts at cheering her up: when Anna, frustrated, takes out her shoe and kicks Noemi in the back, then angrily scolds her, this ends up having the reverse effect as Noemi starts crying even harder.
When Witch Senpai tells Anna that she is going to choose Noemi as her successor, Anna stares intensely at her senior to the point of unnerving the usually calm Witch. This could be because she didn't believe Noemi was qualified, or perhaps that she simply wished to be the commander herself.
Anna doesn't seem to be a very meticulous person as she forgot that she had to help Noemi transport shells.
Background[]
Anna is the only daughter of a big rice farmer. During the last years of elementary school, she helped her family on the farm, driving tractors and backhoes. She then enrolled in Count High School's Agricultural Department, where she met Noemi and got her driver license. When she joined the Sensha-dō team, she was assigned in the middle of her first year to Tank N°3 (T.3 tank) as driver due to her past experience. She participated in the match against Anzio Girls High School. She is seen cheering Noemi for her promotion to tank commander.
Anna is seen driving Noemi's tank (Tank N°3) in a practice match against Saunders University High School. She drives skillfully during the battle, and supports her commander under fire. She is somewhat bored during the retreat after the loss of the Mareșal, and is thrilled with Noemi's idea of staying behind to delay the Saunders tanks, but when their tank gets severely battered by Shermans she must witness her commander knocked unconscious. As Erika was waking up Noemi, Anna and Karin checked the damage on T.3; she then returned to check on Noemi and to tell her that they were not destroyed, and could be brought back to the match with some repairs.
After Anna manages to cheer up her commander, they get to repairing the tank.
