Aki (アキ, Aki) is one of the supporting characters in Girls und Panzer der Film, and in Gilrs und Panzer das Finale.
Profile[]
Aki is a student at Continuation High School and is the gunner/loader of a Finnish BT-42.
Appearance[]
Aki is a small girl with light green eyes, and light blond hair tided up by white ribbon, into two little bunches, pointing downwards. She standartdly wear Jatkosota school uniform or Senshado uniform.
Personality[]
Just as Mika can be seen as the counterpart of St. Gloriana Girls College's Darjeeling, Aki can be thought of as the counterpart of Orange Pekoe. Both are small girls who have to deal with peculiar commanders, with Aki often frustrated or confused by Mika's cryptic statements. She also seems to be annoyed by Mika's constant thefts when it concern her or Mikko but doesn't seems to be annoyed (and even participate) when it concerns others.
Like Orange Pekoe, she also seems to be the most grounded and level-headed girl on her team.
Background[]
Aki's first appears alongside Mika observing the Ooarai Girls Academy/Chi-Ha-Tan High School Girls Academy vs. Pravda Girls High School/St. Gloriana exhibition match, wondering why they weren't participating on it. She later joins the Ooarai Compound Team in their fight against the All-Stars University Team. Along with Mika and Mikko in their BT-42, she helps the Hetzer, CV.33 and the Type 89 take down the Karl-Gerät by distracting and eventually knocking out its entire Pershings escort. She is later seen with Mika and Mikko on their boat, having left before the conclusion of the match. However, she does observe the victory of the Ooarai Compound Team on a small television set on board.
Drama CD[]
During their boat trip after the annihilation match, the three girls end on a desert island with their boat broken, while in there she makes use of survival techniques, such as lighting a fire with flint and steel for cooking.
Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu![]
Aki has a few cameos with her teammates in Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu!, showing moments of their passage in the desert island, their visit to Ooarai with other schools to celebrate the Annihilation match victory and their daily lives together.
Etymology[]
- The name Aki is written in katakana (アキ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (晶, 明, 秋, 亜希, 亜樹 or 亜紀), it could possibly mean:
- 晶 - "clear, crystal".
- 明 - "bright, light, clear".
- 秋 - "autumn".
- 亜希 - "second, Asia" (亜) (a) and "hope" (希) (ki).
- 亜樹 - "second, Asia" (亜) (a) and "tree" (樹) (ki).
- 亜紀 - "second, Asia" (亜) (a) and "chronicle" (紀) (ki).
Trivia[]
- Like her teammates from Continuation, she might be inspired in one of The Moomins original Finnish Muumit characte:rs, with Aki being Moomintroll.
- It seems that she always wanted to try Mika's saunalakki hat and when she did she impersonates her while being secretly watched by Mika and Aki.
